BTR: Ansel Adams biography

The Eloquent Light is a "classic" biography of Ansel Adams by his friend and cooperator Nancy Newhall. I saw a picture of the author taken by Adams in another book and thought This is a strong woman!

A peak in the 11,000+ feet on the border of the Yosemite National Park was named Mount Ansel Adams the next year after his death.

Apart from being a 20th century master of photography, Adams was an enthusiastic preservationist. Another artist I recall energetically campaigning for the environment is the legendary country singer John Denver, who died in an accident in the 1990s while riding his private plane.
